Our clinical practice specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of skin, hair and nail disease. Some of the conditions we treat include skin cancer, acne, skin blemishes, moles, warts, hair and scalp disorders, facial blood vessels, birthmarks, eczema, dry skin, skin allergies, nail problems, wrinkles, frown lines, and childhood skin conditions. We continually search for the latest technology and most beneficial treatments. Our methods of treatment include surgical dermatology (surgical excision), electrosurgery, cryosurgery, laser surgery, phototherapy (NBUVB and PUVA), wrinkle fillers and BOTOX.

Treatments

Accutane

Isotretinoin (Accutane) is a medicine that revolutionized the treatment of acne. Accutane belongs to the family of medicines called retinoids, which are similar to vitamin A. Accutane, like other retinoids, works by altering DNA transcription. This affect decreases the size and output of sebaceous glands. It also makes the cells that are sloughed off into the sebaceous glands less sticky, and therefore less able to form blackheads and whiteheads (comedones). It also reduces the number of bacteria in the sebaceous gland and on the skin surface.

Who Takes Accutane?
Accutane is generally used for nodular, pustular acne that has not responded to full courses of several oral antibiotics. The trend in Accutane prescribing for acne has been towards using it earlier in the course of the disease, especially if there is significant scarring.

Chemical Peels

Facial Capillary Therapy

Damaged facial capillaries are small red or bluish lines visible just under the skin which can create a reddish, blotchy look. This may also result in vascular flushing, such as with rosacea. We have several treatment options that eliminate redness and produce exceptional results for a wide range of patients including our vascular laser and intense pulse light (IPL) therapy.

Laser Photorejuvenation

Photo damage can manifest as mottled pigmentation, fine wrinkling and thinning of the skin, and vascular dilation and flushing.  Laser and intense pulse light therapy (IPL) can eliminate years off of the skin of the face and chest by improving skin texture, color and laxity. These specialized non-ablative techniques gently treat small blood vessels in the dermis beneath the skin quickly and painlessly. They can enhance skin texture and reduce redness while decreasing uneven pigmentation. Biologics
